Hooked on the Brothers
How sad it is to learn of the passing of Lou Albano, known to me as the only true Mario. Usually I hated the live action moments of cartoon shows. I couldn’t be bought into their cheap filler tricks, but the Super Mario Super Show’s live parts were different. They often surpassed the cartoon bits!
It’s been ages since I watched the show, but will always appreciate the impact that Lou Albano’s Mario had on me growing up, I still feel the urge to dance to the theme song with him and Luigi. I’m going to revisit some of his genious tonight and hope you do to.

One of my most pleasing memories is singing “swing your arms from side to side” randomly and watching lil’ Gary begin to dance The Mario like Pavlov’s dog drooling. It was almost as exciting as the TMNT chair dance.
