How sad it is to learn of the passing of Lou Albano, known to me as the only true Mario. Usually I hated the live action moments of cartoon shows. I couldn’t be bought into their cheap filler tricks, but the Super Mario Super Show’s live parts were different. They often surpassed the cartoon bits!

It’s been ages since I watched the show, but will always appreciate the impact that Lou Albano’s Mario had on me growing up, I still feel the urge to dance to the theme song with him and Luigi. I’m going to revisit some of his genious tonight and hope you do to.

I’m not sure where this is from (Mongolia?), but I’m really digging the tune. I want to party with these guys, adventuring around our strange world, sharing tales of times before.

Easily the least freaky of the Chilling Adventures In Sorcery, The Measure Of The Monster merits attention based solely on my love of giant bug movies and a strange resemblance to the travails of a particular superhero.

Again, while regular Archie comics are loaded with surprisingly kinky behaviour, there are certain ideas that are almost never explored. Last week was suicide and insanity, this week it’s domestic abuse.

Having created an anatomically-incorrect ant the size of a building, Professor Wingate has no choice but to use the same formula on himself in order to defeat the beast, transforming into a kind of ‘giant man’.
