Put Your Hearts Together And Show Belief…

Oh, glorious day! A little Herriman from Don Marquis’ the lives and times of archy and mehitabel in celebration.

I was reminded of this lovely painting of Bueno Excellente after reading Nagy’s comment in yesterday’s post.

My cats provide a size comparison to give you a proper perspective for this monster.

Glancing over the new comic releases for this week, I see that Ambush Bug is getting the Showcase treatment, with all the major appearances from his heyday collected in one black-and-white, phone book-sized chunk. I was curious as to exactly which issues were included, and which ones I’m missing, when I realized that I own every one. I even have a few items that probably weren’t worth collecting like the roleplaying game supplement and Ambush Bug’s cameo in Crisis on Infinite Earths, despite his protestations that he never appeared in that event. I still haven’t found the pinball game, though.
This is a real surprise to me considering that I’m notorious among my friends for almost never collecting a complete run of anything, especially without realizing it.

“Better to read Archie comic books to study adolescent psychology than to think that you really know someone on Twitter. Jughead said that.”

Another Monday, another Herriman, from Don Marquis’ the lives and times of archy and mehitabel.
