The Children of the Hydra’s Teeth

I’m back from Montreal and Paris, so obviously I have reanimated skeletons on my mind.

Even I forget the reanimated skeleton from time to time. Unlike vampires, zombies, werewolves and other more popular monsters, it’s not as if anyone is going to devote a book entirely to warrior skeletons. Or will I? Other monsters are implausible, but with a little fudging, possible. Reanimated skeletons don’t even have muscles. How the fuck do you explain that? Magic!

Illustration from Donjon: Clefs en Mains, because the French understand the difference between a normal reanimated skeleton and an armed reanimated skeleton.

Hulk Smash Canuck’ll Head!

Maybe that’s not how you spell “canuck’ll head”…hmm. I’m not so sure about this fine marvel animated feature Hulkster vs Wolvie, but who knows? It’s kinda weird that Marvel’s rocking so much on the movie right now, but their cartoons are well… Ultimate Avengers. This definately looks sharper than the other marvel cartoon stuff, but I dunno…what’s up with Wolvie’s mask? I get the whole “original look” thing, but it’s not really like the original or the current. That batman face with the yellow nose is just weird to me. Freak!

Who Is Cooler?

Kenny vs Spenny is a wicked show I’ve grown to love in the past little while. It centers around two best friends hell bent on winning a competition of their own design by doing whatever it takes.

What I really love most about the show is how it gives me the same feeling I had when first watching Tom Green and Captain Video before that, back in the day when I was much more retarded! It’s that insane reality that I just gotta jump on.

It’s tough showing any one part of this show. Each whole episode is like a real life Bugs Bunny cartoon, with Spenny following the rules to a tee and Kenny doing anything he can to break them… and him.

The Jack Kirby of China

“I’ve got the great Jack Kirby shot coming up here, alright, when Iron Head gets thrown into the tree and the tree explodes into a thousand splinters. I think Wang Yu was the one who literally became the Jack Kirby of China, alright, with his directing efforts. It was prefigured here. If Wang Yu and Jack Kirby exchanged notes, they would find they have a whole lot of common.”

“That looks the aftermath of the Thing or the Hulk hitting somebody.”
